The 3-ring adaptor is installed in the BASIK Black Choir Folder with a long single loop of elastic tied at one end. It is threaded through the grommets of the 3-ring adaptor and hooked over the metal "teeth" at the top and bottom of the folder's hinge. This method allows the 3-ring adaptor to be removed easily without unraveling all the elastics.
This applies if you order the BASIK Black Choir Folder with the optional 3-ring adaptor included. If you already own one without a 3-ring, you can purchase one from MyMusicFolders.com, which will fit, although the attaching method is slightly different. Those work with two small figure-8-style elastic loops that attach around the backside of the grommet and then to the metal teeth. Those can be purchased here.
